Overview
If authorizations have been required in the Payers Module and/or Clients Module, then the client's specific authorizations must be entered into Procentive in order for their services to be recorded and billed. This article provides you with an overview of how to enter a client authorization.
Enter an Authorization
- Go to the Clients Module.
- Double-click on the client you want to add an authorization to.
- The Client window will open.
- Click on the Payers tab > Authorizations sub-tab.
- Complete these fields:
- Authorization/Date Created: Enter the authorization number here.
- Whatever is entered here will travel on a claim. In instances where the payer does not want the authorization to travel on a claim, leave it blank.
- Max units: Enter the number of units granted by the payer, if the payer has given the authorization in units.
- From: If there is a start date for the authorization, enter it here.
- To: If there is an end date for the authorization, enter it here.
- Codes: Use the picklist to select the code(s) covered by this authorization.

Optional: To attach the authorization document, click Upload in the File column > select the file > click Open > refresh the window.
- You'll now see the file link in the File column under the Upload button indicating that the authorization document is attached.
- Authorization/Date Created: Enter the authorization number here.
- Click Add at the end of the line.
- Click Save.
