This article includes information on how to set up the scanning feature in Procentive.
Important: In order to use the direct scanning feature, you must have a TWAIN compliant scanner accessible by your computer. Please check your scanning documentation to ensure it TWAIN compliant before proceeding.
TWAIN is the standard interface between software programs and image-capturing devices.
A TWAIN driver must be installed on each computer using a scanner. NOTE: For Kyocera scanners, users will need to run the Kyocera TWAIN Driver Setting application after the TWAIN driver is installed to set the TWAIN source.
Google Chrome Setup
If you are using the internet browser Google Chrome, please complete the following steps.
- Go to the Settings Module
- You should be on the first tab: Preferences
- Locate Use plug-in free signature pad and scan method: Set the drop-down to Yes
- Click Change.
- Log off and log back on again to initiate the new setting.
NOTE: This setting is user- and computer-specific; therefore, each user will need to apply this setting to their user account.
Access The Scan Link
To download the software, you will need to access a scan link. A scan link can be found in one of two places:
Clinical Charting
- Go to the Clinical/Charting Module.
- Double click on a clinical document to open.
- Click the scan link, near the top of the screen.
Clients Module, Payer Section
- Go to the Clients Module.
- Double click on a client's record to open
- Click on the Payers tab
- Click on the Documents sub-tab.
- Click the scan link.
Download the Software
Once you click on the scan link a Scan to Procentive window will open. Depending on the internet browser you are using and the Google Chrome setting mentioned above, you will see one of two screens:
Google Chrome Users
- Click Download and install the Plug-in Here.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to install the software.
- You will be downloading and installing an .exe file.
- You may be asked to restart your browser.
Internet Explorer Users
- Click Download.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to install the software.
- You will be downloading and installing an .exe file.
- You may be asked to restart your browser.
Troubleshooting Scanning Issues:
If you experience any trouble in the steps above,
